Mo&Mi at the Sampson County Farmer’s Market

Mo & Mi will be doing a DIY T-Shirt Headband demonstration at the Sampson Farmers Market in Clinton,NC on June 28 from 11am- 1pm!

This event is opened to anyone! Adults will make t-shirt headbands and children will make painted flower hair clips.

Cost is $15, which includes all supplies (adults will only have to bring a t-shirt they don’t mind cutting up). Smaller children create up to 3 flower clips, and adults can create as many headbands depending on shirt size.

Rain or shine we will still be having this demonstration. We will be under a shelter, so no worries!

Please comment below or email us at mo_and_mi@live.com to let us know that you will be attending, and if you will be bringing someone else. We want to get an estimate on how many people will attend.

This is a great way to learn something new this summer and just have fun!

Modern Day Slavery

Last year I came across the End It Movement. I saw red “X’s and the #EndIt hashtag on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I did not know what all of it meant, so i did some research. . . I was shocked to find out that slavery still existed.

When we hear the word “slavery” most of us think of African Americans in the 17th century. Slavery has been around much longer than that, and it still continues today, in the entire world!

Slavery still exists!
Slavery still exists!

Today, there are 27 million men, women, and children who are victims of slavery. Slavery occurs in 161 countries, including the United States. Modern day slaves are made up of 80% being women, and 50% being children.

There are three types of slavery: bonded labor, forced labor, and human trafficking. Modern day slavery is the fastest growing enterprise. It is about a $32 billion industry.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Throughout this month we want to be able to help human trafficking survivors! With any purchases you make from Mo & Mi we will be able to help make a difference.
